Streamliners, a content curation company has seen phenomenal growth with their HealthPathways product in New Zealand and Australia, with their sites firmly set on the UK. Healthpathway’s helps local health authorities create a single source of truth for patient journeys through the health system. With the continued success of their product both locally and abroad their tech team was growing and playing an increasing important role in the company’s current and future success. They needed to hire a technology leader.

The Challenge

Streamliners is not a software company, although they do have software products, so selecting a technology leader into a new role was something they were keen to seek help with. They wanted to ensure that they could identify the candidate with the right level of experience, a selection process that would achieve buy in from both management and the IT team and assistance putting together a selection process for this critical role.
Streamliners were looking for someone that could cover a lot ground (most SMEs will recognise this). The role would look after not only people management, but also technical leadership, the day to day operations of the IT Infrastructure and to work alongside their product managers delivering an exciting set of product roadmaps.

The Engagement

To ensure a thorough understanding of the requirements for this appointment, Stratigence conducted a review of the IT services group and the role it played within the company. The review dug deep to ensure the full scope of the role was understood, the technology in use now along with likely future technology and to immerse ourselves in Streamliners culture of Autonomy, Mastery and Purpose’.
With a dual focus from Rachel (HR consultant) and Chris (Technology consultant) a comprehensive picture was put forward with a clear understanding of the type of person they would be looking for, the scope of the role, and the areas of technical experience the candidate would need. The review ensured that both the IT team and management were in agreement with the scope of the position and the type of person that would be successful in this new role.
Following the review a comprehensive set of interview questions was created to align with the job description, behavioural traits and technical experience and interviews were conducted.

The Outcome

A strong candidate was identified during the interview process and subsequently appointed to this exciting role in one of Christchurch’s fastest growing companies.
